Jarreau Vandal 'Small Talk' (Hear This Records)Dutch Ambassador to the LA-based collective Soulection, Jarreau Vandal brings you new single ‘Small Talk’
After laying down standout sets on Soulection’s sold out Sound of Tomorrow European tour and unveiling two stellar singles from the EP- ‘Nobody Else (ft. Brasstracks & Niya Wells)’ and ‘Rabbit Hole (ft. BMB Spacekid x Jelani Blackman)’- Vandal continues to establish himself as a new and unique producer bringing an arsenal of jams to the dancefloor.
This follows a breakout start to 2016 for the 24 year-old, who has been named One to Watch by the likes of Complex and Jamz Supernova (BBC Radio 1Xtra). Vandal cut his teeth on official remixes for Snakehips, Dua Lipa and A-Trak, as well as an exclusive ‘Section Boyz & Friends’ Boiler Room set, plus guest mixes for the likes of MistaJam (BBC Radio 1Xtra), DJ Target (BBC Radio 1Xtra), I-D Magazine, Rinse FM, NTS Radio and Soulection (Beats One).
Having recently surpassed 5 million streams on Soundcloud, Jarreau Vandal will play a headline London show in the summer, plus a run of shows in April and May as part of Mr Carmack’s Asia tour.
After his ground-breaking white label EP was released in 2014 the smooth laidback Dutch prince of fusion has showcased his versatility with genre-defying remixes and bootlegs including Kendrick Lamar’s “Be Alright,” Alina Baraz’s “Paradise,” Mura Masa’s “Lotus Eater”, Rihanna’s “Work” and G-Eazy ‘Let’s Get Lost’ just to name a few.
While it seemed it was Vandal’s destiny to become a Jazz musician, growing up in a family with a rich musical background, It was being a child of the 90’s that allowed him to fully transform into his own. Fully immersed in Hip-Hop, rock and R&B as a teen, Jamiroquai, A Tribe Called Quest, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others helped inspire Vandal’s unique style that you see today.
