THANK YOU FROM DIMENSIONS FESTIVAL 2016 !
Music lovers from around the globe unite under the Croatian sun for five days of unmissable music, starting with a sold-out show from Massive Attack, performances from Larry Heard, Haitus Kaiyote, Moodymann, MCDE, Richie Hawtin, and many sets from talent old and new.
Starting with the biggest show the Pula amphitheatre has ever seen, Dimensions Festival 2016 started with a bang, a sold out, jaw-dropping, immersive show and from Massive Attack, complete with a hypnotic visual display. A night of perfectly curated programming also included a mesmerising set from jazz-fusionist Kamasi Washington (and a surprise appearance from his Dad!), then rounded off by a DJ set from Kenny Dixon Jr – AKA Moodymann.
Having sold out in record time, Dimensions Festival saw 8,000 fans flock to Fort Punta Christo, Croatia for a musical experience that united talents old and young. From Hunee’s disco tipped sunset beach party, to Soichi Terada’s air guitar, Dimensions ’16 was the most notable to date. From one magical moment to the next, Larry Heard’s first live set as Mr Fingers for 20 years was a highlight – an incredible show. Mungo’s Hifi had the darker side of the Dimensions line up covered with stand out performances from the likes of The Bug and Miss Red, dBridge and special jungle set from Loefah on their purpose built rig. The newly revamped Moat stage saw takeovers from NTS with Gene Hunt, Josey Rebelle and more, and of course a mammoth four hours from Richie Hawtin.
Uniting house, disco, techno, dub and everything in between, Dimensions excelled itself in its fifth year. With fine tuned sound systems fitted to each stage, the biggest line up in its history and an extensive programme of workshops and talks in the knowledge arena, Dimensions pulled off their biggest edition to date.
