Jevon has today released his brand new EP, ‘Spirits & Chaos’. Introduced by recent single ‘Falling’ and the new video for ‘Lights’ – also out this week – ‘Spirits & Chaos’ received its live debut with a sold-out headline show this week at London’s Camden Assembly.
‘Spirits & Chaos’ is an ambitious body of work that explores the pushes and pulls on the individual as you attempt to navigate your way in a volatile world. The first three songs – ‘Threats’, ‘Henry the 8th’, ‘Lights’ – act as the ‘Chaos’ section (anger, reactionary, chaotic); the second half of the EP, meanwhile, makes way for the ‘Spirit’ (emotional, uplifting). With a Portuguese conscience connecting these events – and reflecting Jevon’s own family lineage – ‘Spirits & Chaos’ tells a deeply personal but universal story of good and bad decisions, temptation and choice. It is, also, a timely reminder of the redemptive power of music.
A hugely in-demand figure both from a production standpoint and as an artist, Jevon has taken time crafting a UK sound of his own design. Mixing elements of R&B, hip-hop, gospel and soul, it’s music that – at its heart – is also deeply rooted to classic storytelling. Already hard at work on further long-form projects, Jevon has emerged from the ‘Spirits & Chaos’ with his sights firmly faced on a bright future.
