Mr.C’s latest single comes with remixes by Jay Tripwire, Dance Spirit and Radio Rental as well as its own launch party at FOLD, London on June 8th.
Mr.C continues to be a leading light in the global music scene thanks to his own unique take on house and techno. Once again here he comes correct with a peak time party track with a tight rhythm, thick bassline and solid chords that are run through with an infectious acid line. A full vocal in which Mr.C waxes lyrical about us being a radically inclusive community in which everyone belongs is the icing on the cake and the robotic chorus a real hook the crowd will love.
Next up is label stalwart Jay Tripwire’s epic offering, which starts with solid beats, a stabbing bass and tripped out noises. The track builds with swooping pads and trippy synths and plenty of micro samples that make his remix a minimal masterpiece. LA duo Dance Spirit’s Void Remix follows on from them releasing on the likes of Crosstown and Get Physical. A pulsating rhythm and bass underlay Mr.C’s melodic chorus synths, deep pads and warm strings that draw you right in, establishing this peak time big room groove.
Radio Rental then serves up an AcidWonk remix, which starts with solid drums, swiftly joined by a thick bassline, swirling pads, throbbing bass tones and underlying acid lines that break down to introduce the vocals again to great effect. Last up comes Mr.C’s instrumental Electro mix. The track kicks in with a tough electro beat as the acid line creeps up on you after which the bassline solidifies the groove and the whole thing gradually lifts you higher and makes a real mark.
No label offers up such uniquely futuristic and sci-fi sounds as Superfreq.
