Super-infectious teenage grunge-pop is the order of the day on the dazzlingly catchy ‘You’, which sits perfectly alongside its fellow A-Side and previously shared ‘Your Boyfriend’ on the brand new release on Chess Club. It’s already been played by Mistajam on Radio 1 as part of his ‘New Names’ feature, and also by Huw Stephens.
On writing ‘Your Boyfriend’ front-woman Fee says, “It is the first track we wrote together as BLOXX, in a smelly garage in Slough. I guess it’s about hating one of my mates boyfriends, and simultaneously thinking I was better for that mate, rather than him.”
Released on the 14th April, the double A-side record will be also be available as an exclusive 7 inch vinyl on May 12th.
On writing ‘You’, Fee adds – “‘You’ is a song we wrote in my front room just a few days after writing ‘Your Boyfriend’. It’s got a lot to do with reminiscing on a past relationship, and taking yourself back to that time to think about what could have been done/said differently.‘
