Piano Works EP – Frederic Chopin said “Simplicity is the highest goal, achievable when you have overcome all difficulties. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art“.
Simplicity in looped form, complexity in organic sounds, that’s what drives “Piano Works EP”. Opening “Frederic”, the gentle and atmospheric at the first sight, changes throughout to dissonant and intense. Deep, jazzy interpretation of “Continuum”, made by newcomers on the scene: Fisherboyz, is just a passage to the minimalistic yet very groovy live version, made by one of the legends of polish electronic music: Jurek Przeździecki. Then, original “Continuum” provides more hypnotic groove and esoteric melody still perfect both for club action and laidback listening experience. “Piano on Acid” falls deeper into experiment and heavy processing, combining different style influences from lofi, dub techno to acid house. Mixture of styles, interesting textures and club driving force combined with deep melodies, that’s what defines Piotr Figiel’s productions, live act and dj style. That’s what you get on “Piano Works”.
