Mt. Wolf, the unstoppable rising alt-rock outfit from across the pond, has made their return to New York and will play their first ever headline show tonight at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. The band was also stateside to participate in New York City’s Mondo Festival. Coinciding with their shows, Mt. Wolf has revealed the official music video for heart-pounding track, “Soteria”. “Soteria” is taken from the band’s debut album Aetherlight released May 26th, 2017. The video features actor Ben Barnes from HBO’s hit show, Westworld and was directed by James Ayling.
Of the inspiration behind the video, the director explains: “‘In me are the bones of a better man than this’ – I saw this quote somewhere and it made me think about the things we do as adults. We poison ourselves and do things we aren’t proud of in order to cope with how things have tuned out. As I’ve got older, I’ve reflected on my life’s path and how my aspirations and goals have changed from when I was a kid. I’ve often wondered what the 10 year old me would think of the man I have become. From this developed a story featuring a bank robbery in Yorkshire with guns, bikes, hallucinations, caravans and Ben Barnes…..of course.”
Of Ben’s involvement he states, “I’ve always liked those music videos that feel like poetic, short films and Mt Wolf’s music feels so cinematic to me. When my friends in the band asked me to play an ex-bike champion who’s hit bottom and turned bank robber, I jumped at the opportunity to do it for them.“https://youtu.be/jiYP6urAECk
