Not3s premieres new single 'My Lover', wins GRM Daily Awards + Mobo nominations, mixtape coming soon

Not3s has premiered his irresistible new single ‘My Lover’, which is available today on Relentless Records.
Recently nominated for two Mobo Awards and winner of Best Breakthrough at this week’s GRM Daily’s Rated Awards, ‘My Lover’ follows the phenomenal success of ‘Addison Lee (Peng Ting Called Maddison)’ – which has already been certified silver – and second single ‘Aladdin’ (also playlisted across Radio 1 and 1xtra). Not3s also recently concluded a sold-out UK tour, including an incredibly-received set at London’s Islington Academy where he previewed further material from his debut mixtape. Watch out for more news on ‘Take Not3s’ coming soon.
‘My Lover’ confirms Not3s’ growing reputation as one of the UK’s most refreshing, charismatic young talents. Effortlessly blending elements of hip-hop, dancehall and R&B – plus wider influences spanning his Hackney neighbourhood to African and Carribean sounds – ‘My Lover’ is the next great step forward from a young singer and MC still in his teens, but already proving himself a vibrant and vital British newcomer.

How Not3s got to this point goes much further than one viral (and for Uber, ultimately forewarning) track about taxis. From primary school upwards he’d always written bars, where his mother remembers hearing him rapping along to DMX and singing to Usher. As a kid Not3s grew up in a relatively deprived household and would sell food from Sainsbury’s on his lunch break to make money. Then, an encouraging word from his headteacher suggested Not3s instead might find focus through making music, when the three-meanings of his MC name crystallised (notes as in money; notes as in music; and, the then-pipedream that someone might take notice of him). Some 18 million Spotify streams and 13 million Youtube streams later across just two single, Not3s has made significant strides in making this is a reality.
It’s this ability to draw on a multicultural, melting pot of sounds and experiences that make ‘My Lover’ – and the ‘Take Not3s’ mixtape that follows – the mark of an artist who is truly here to stay. He broke down the door with ‘Addison Lee’ but now he’s starting to bring in the furniture – the different themes, stories and motives that define who Not3s is. As he says, all that’s left to do is for the world to “Take Note”.
