Teaming up with the legendary dj/producer WOOKIE, SOUTHCHURCH continue their output of radio friendly Garage-flavoured singles with “ONE LIFE”.
Tipped as a Sound of 2018 by BBC Introducing Essex and nominated as Best Electronic Act 2018 at the Unsigned Music Awards, Southend four-piece Southchurch have dropped their latest single “One Life”, a collaboration with UK Garage legend Wookie – who produced the summery UKG-laced jam alongside Livingstone Brown. Speaking on the collab, the band say:
“It was a great moment for us to work with someone that’s had such a big influence on the music we’re into – All artists have different formulas, we all approach projects differently. So being able to watch Wookie do his thing was a treat. Sometimes you have sessions and it’s very forced and hard to mix with other artists or producers creatively. However within the first 90 seconds we knew we were going to create a smash”
“One Life” follows previous single “Fading” which introduced fans to their unique take on UK Garage using live instrumentation, razor sharp 2 step beats and soulful vocals. Produced by Livingstone Brown (Maxi Priest), “Fading” was featured as Record Of The Day and peaked at No. 16 in the UK Club Charts. Previous singles have received radio support at Kiss, Capital Xtra and BBC Essex, whilst their track “M.F.D.S.G” was used as part of advertisement by Mastercard for The Brits Are Coming 2018.
