Fresh from releasing ‘Machine Bias’ feat. Justin Cudmore, Minneapolis-based artist TML is back on Hotflush with his third release on the label. The ‘I Need An Exit’ EP, out on the 5th of October.
Developing the overdriven sounds explored on Machine Bias, this four track release spans scuzzy electro, distorted synths and the notable UK influences of Hardcore and Jungle. First up ‘Raw Stack’ plays with broken drum programming and an earworm acid line ‘Sandboxing’ delivers an eery vocal sample and an icy top line, before plunging into reverberating bass and rhythm. Next up is ‘Export’ which pairs distorted claps with warping synths. Lastly ‘Clear Data’ is a mellow cut full of atmospheric tension.
