A glistening spring anthem leads Scuba’s second release of 2020.
Recent months have represented a sonic reinvigoration for Paul Rose, continuing his affection for incorporating live instrumentation into his tracks, with his beloved Novo guitar at the core. The period has been free from creative restraints, driven by one thing above all else – having fun.
The title track of ‘This Is For You’ promises to stand the test of time, hitting that sweet spot where euphoria and melancholy collide, set under a palm tree and tinged with ‘80s nostalgia. It provided a delicious moment of mid-morning jubilation when the artist played at Panorama Bar in February. ‘Suction Reduction’ is the perfect juxtaposition, a heads-down techno roller made for sweaty raving. Rounding out the trio, ‘U Tool’ is the functional closer, popping with a chugging snake-like groove.
