Ransom Note stalwart BAWRUT joins forces with stadium-packing avant-pop Italian phenomenon LIBERATO for the pumper ‘JE ‘O TTENG E T’O DDÒNG’.

Sung in Neapolitan, the track hints at summer evenings in Bawrut and LIBERATO’s native Italy. A story from dusk to dawn. Set in a club, it’s an ode to the importance of being together with friends, sharing drinks, sweat and emotions – without curfew, masks or closed venues.

I wanted LIBERATO to perform on a club beat. It reminds me of a typical night in a club in Naples between friends who cannot be found. Neapolitan traffic, food stops at a 24/7 bakery between one party and another and the beauty of having a good time with your friends and always sharing everything together.” – Bawrut

Since the start of Bawrut’s love affair with Ransom Note five years ago with the release of his first EP ‘Ciquita’, the artist has steadily racked up high-profile fans like Dixon, Avalon Emerson, Axel Boman and Erol Alkan, all supporting his Ransom Note EPs and releases on other notable labels including DJ Tennis’ imprint ‘Life & Death’, Jennifer Cardini’s ‘Correspondant’ and Catz N Dogs ‘PETS recordings’. His most recent work on Ransom Note ‘Pronto Arpeggio’ traversed borders and genres with everyone from Sven Vath to Andrew Weatherall, Dixon to Midland, Hunee to Kolsch all building it in as a staple to their sets.

LIBERATO is an enigmatic Neapolitan act known for mixing modern influences with his native language. The anonymous vocalist packs stadiums and festivals like Sonar or Club 2 Club and has collaborated with the likes of 3D from Massive Attack and Gaika.

In this new collaboration Bawrut presents an evolution to his sound, elevating into pop excursions outside of his signature ‘bangers’.
