Back with his second release under the new alias, on his imprint Birds That Fly, allow us to introduce Kidnap’s Ashes EP. Another excellent representation of the producer’s impressive versatility and productions, he describes the EP as a story of regrowth.
The EP opens with the title track Ashes. An instant muted kick forms the backbone of the track, layered with modulating piano chords and a heartfelt vocal. A breakdown later makes way for a gratifying key change and subtle, minimalistic ending. Kidnap has mastered the build up with Aurora; synths reminiscent of a bygone trance era flourish spectacularly into an array of infinite soundscapes. The EP is finalised with powerful, rolling snares and enchanting chords in After All.
“The Ashes EP is a three track story of regrowth. Ashes the fire, Aurora the resurrection and After All the understanding.” – Kidnap
