Ambient master Bonobo, the legendary Sir David “RAM JAM” Rodigan MBE and the Outlook Orchestra set to perform at Outlook Festival’s Opening Concert, plus Manchester breakouts Children of Zeus
Pula Arena, Croatia – 5th September 2018

Returning to Fort Punta Christo for its’ eleventh edition, Europe’s largest celebration of sound system culture, Outlook Festival, is back for 2018 with another edition featuring the heaviest names in bass, grime, dubstep, hip-hop, reggae, garage and more. As with each year, Outlook will host a mesmerising opening concert of epic proportions in Pula’s stunning 2,000 year old amphitheatre, this year celebrating a new decade of Outlook, with Sir David “RAM JAM” Rodigan MBE and the all important Outlook Orchestra, uniting to perform a series of tracks that have soundtracked David’s forty years in the music biz. As well as this there’s the always magical Bonobo set to perform, on top of Manchester hip-hop / soul superstars, Children of Zeus.
On Wednesday 5th September 2018, the iconic Pula Amphitheatre hosts ambient maestro Bonobo with his revered ‘Migration’ show, the British producer’s most heavily acclaimed and most poignant production to date. A series out sell out shows and his latest release, Migration, propelled Bonobo’s status in the electronic elite to new levels. Blurring the lines between trip-hop, pop and left field dance music on a symphonic tip, Migration is a testament to Bonobo’s genre-blending approach, honed over the last 15 years. Aesthetically driven with emotionally charged, cinematic moments, its blissed out beats married with saturated strings and jazz influenced drums – Bonobo’s trademark sound sets the scene for another stellar edition of Outlook festival.
On top of this, the Opening Concert sees the one and only David ‘Ram Jam’ Rodigan join forces with the Outlook Orchestra to mark his forty years as a celebrated curator, host and DJ. Now a king pin of the sound clash and representing roots and reggae and Caribbean culture, David has championed all from early ska and rocksteady, through to dancehall, jungle and beyond. Following sell out shows in Bristol and London, David Rodigan will add a touch of his own personality to the Orchestra line-up. A long standing member of the Outlook family, David joining forces with the mighty Outlook Orchestra will be a new adventure, spanning riddims old and new that have been significant to us all – all performed by Outlook affiliated artists.
To top this off, Manchester’s finest new duo Children Of Zeus join the bill, fresh from their acclaimed album ‘The Story So Far’ dropping earlier this year. Formed of Konny Kon and Tyler Daley, the dream team create lo-fi sounds for the soul.
