Italian cult combo Calibro 35 release the official video of the first single ‘SuperStudio’, taken from their new album Decade, via Record Kicks YouTube channel.
Filmed and produced by the iconic collective John Snellinberg, already responsible for Calibro’s “Butcher’s Bride” and “Bandits on Mars” video clips, the video describes the creative crisis of an architect (Luke Tahiti), who is obsessed with the revolution of the radical architecture movement and haunted by the memory of a mysterious woman (Eleonora Cappelletti). Suspended between utopia, anguish, rediscovery of the past and futuristic projections, the video mixes atmospheres à la “Mad Men” and “The Laughing Woman”, and is a tribute to two of the most important firms of Italian radical architecture from the ’70s: ArchiZoom and, of course, SuperStudio.
The single is taken from ‘DECADE, Calibro 35’s new album that celebrates 10 years of activity of the Milan combo. Described by Rolling Stone magazine’s as “the most fascinating, retro-maniac and genuine thing that happened to Italy in the last years” and already sampled by superstars such as Dr. Dre and Jay-Z, Calibro 35 count on a number of aficionados worldwide which includes fans such as Dj Food (Ninja Tune), Mr Scruff and Huey Morgan (Fun Lovin’ Criminals).
