Holed up in a secluded cabin in Quebec, Montreal’s Caveboy decided it was time to write a song about changing gears, and embracing the future – out came the brand new single, Raconteur. Released this past Friday, Caveboy shares the brand new video to accompany the song and announce a hometown show on September 29th at O Patro Vys (Tickets).
“After over a year of touring, it felt so good to be creative again” shares the band. “We retreated to nature and allowed for the inspiration to flow through all of us. This song is the first of many that we are so, so proud of, all crafted and constructed by us from the ground up. It’s proof of a real evolution for Caveboy.” Stepping into the producers’ chair for the first time ever, the trio ventured over to Ireland to capture this tune and video at Grouse Lodge Studios (as part of their Grand Prize for the Recording Festival 2017). Upon returning to Canada they handed over the audio files to Joseph Donovan (The Dears, Sam Roberts) to fine tune the track in the final mixing stages and Harris Newman (Wolf Parade, A Silver Mt Zion, Vic Chesnutt) for mastering. Feast your eyes and ears on a new tune from one of CBCMusic.ca’s lauded “Montreal Emerging Acts To Watch”.
