Go Deeva Records Classy end their year with a fantastic five track EP featuring a range of artists. The likes of Simone Vitullo, Anton Boyar & Aloona, Simone Burrini, Falanga, Dyab and LevK & HUNA all appear and show the breadth and depth the label has in its musical family.
Simone Vitullo’s rework of Anton Boyar & Aloona’s ‘Amba’ is up first and is a spine tingling deep house track with sweeping chords and supple drums. Its got a late night spirit and meandering lead synths that really get you under a spell. ‘La Palmera’ is next from Simone Burrini and is a percussive, prickly number with chattery claps to get the floor sweating.
‘Amalfi Coast’ (Simone Vitullo Edit) is a busy and colourful cut that is layered up with percussion, warm chords and vocals that sooth the soul. It’s a steamy number that bubbles with real character and human warmth, then ‘Fusion’ by Dyab is a series of builds and breakdowns that build real tension. It is a deep and cavernous number where the heavy drums suck you in and freaky pads add detail. ‘Raw People’ from LevK & HUNA rounds things out in hypnotic fashion with loose drums, filtered vocals and a late night edginess that is truly compelling.
All in all this is a fantastic EP that covers plenty of styles with real skill.
