Manchester rapper and poet OneDa has today released new single ‘Superstar’ – a fierce and uplifting anthem that celebrates identity and self-worth.
Fusing her signature hip-hop and drum & bass style with afro-trap energy and gritty bars, ‘Superstar’ exudes star-quality confidence. The track also gives props to the adidas Superstar trainer – an iconic symbol in OneDa’s life and work.
Set to feature in the 1×1 Superstar campaign that is celebrating the famous sneaker, OneDa explains this personal affinity: “The Superstar kicks represent passion, resilience, hard work and power—everything I believe I possess as an artist and individual being. These kicks not only match every fit in my wardrobe, they’ve got that iconic, simple style that can’t be replicated, and yet they speak the struggle of a thousand voices. I wear my Superstars with pride, and this track is my love letter to them—the power, the style, the finesse they represent.”
Building on the momentum of her debut album Formula OneDa (2024), and its 2025 companion remix project ReFormula OneDa, the single is her first on her newly established label, Manny On The Rise, and heralds a new chapter of creative independence for the artist.
‘Superstar’ is more than a track — it’s a mission statement, and the opening shot of a new era for one of the UK’s most exciting independent voices.
2025 has also seen OneDa perform on stages including SXSW (as part of the Selector x BBC Introducing series) delivering two sets at Glastonbury 2025, and dazzling audiences at Shambala festival. A mainstay in Manchester’s vibrant music scene, the rapper hosted BEYOND THE MUSIC’s Beyond The Band conference at Co-op Live, and performed in Manchester as part of BBC Introducing LIVE 2025’s largest ever showcase. Other further tour dates include Iceland Airwaves on November 8th.
