Balancing the sacred and the profane, Devi’s new video in collaboration with rebellious Chinese artist Tianzhou Chen mixes colourful, mythical and natural imagery.
Rich with references to Chinese religion, Butoh, vogueing, and the world of fashion, the trance mantras of Swiss-born, Napalese-Tibetan artist Aïsha Devi meet a rave-like theatre of sadhu ritualism, magic and androgynous deities.
Light Luxury is taken from Devi’s ‘DNA Feelings’ on Houndstooth earlier this year.
