Bristol’s Shall Not Fade returns this September with the ‘For Those Who’ EP, a five-track collection from Demuja.
Salzburg, Austria’s Demuja has become a name synonymous with soul-laden electronic music over the past decade, musically spanning many genres from Disco to House, Garage and D&B, regularly dropping material on his own MUJA imprint as well as labels like DJ Steaw’s House Puff, Jacques Renault’s Let’s Play House, Skylax and Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse amongst others. Here though he joins the roster of Shall Not Fade, following recent output from Kettama, Fold, Mella Dee, Earth Trax & Newborn Jr.
‘Do It’ takes the lead on the EP with crunchy drums, wandering piano licks and bumpy before ‘Jito’ lays down bright chord sequences, shuffled jazz-tinged drums and resonant Moog style synth melodies.
Opening the flip-side is ‘Can’t Stop’, a subtly unfolding hypnotic number fuelled by ethereal pads, vocal chants, metallic percussive hits and dusty drums. ‘Those Who’ drops the tempo next to focus on broken drums and an amalgamation of multilayered synth lines before ‘Tokyo’ wraps up the package, featuring classic deep house tropes in the form of airy chords, squelching acid bleeps and organic drums.
