Silver Man to release new album ‘The Herald of the Larks’ on 3 Bar Fire Records

3 Bar Fire Records are proud to present ‘The Herald of the Larks’, the long-awaited follow-up album from Silver Man.

The album takes inspiration from Romeo and Juliet, where the lark’s morning song becomes a symbol of parting. In Shakespeare’s telling, the dawn is not romantic—it’s a warning that love’s moment is ending. That tension—between love and impending separation —echoes across the album’s 11 tracks.

Following the 2024 single “Don’t Leave Me”, this new full-length release is a richly textured, emotionally charged downtempo album which explores thoughts of the past, longing and emotional loss—woven through loops, vocal samples, and mixed with keyboards, guitar and bass.

The focus track, “Open Your Heart”, stands apart with its uptempo rhythm, sweeping strings, and dancefloor energy, drawing influences from artists like Bicep and Bonobo. It offers a bright, surging counterpoint to more introspective pieces like “Why Don’t You Miss Me?”, “The Nightingale” and the classical guitar led “Just Loving You”. The Sneaker Pimps inspired ‘Now or Never’ combines with sampled vocals on the penultimate track ‘Tender Touch’ to provide a backdrop that wouldn’t be out of place in Bristol’s trip-hop heyday..

Recorded, mixed, and mastered in a home studio, “The Herald of the Larks” is lo-fi in process but expansive in emotion—music made with minimal tools but deep awareness of sound and space.

“It was the lark, the herald of the morn,

No nightingale. Look, love, what envious streaks

Do lace the severing clouds in yonder east.

Night’s candles are burnt out, and jocund day

Stands tiptoe on the misty mountain-tops.

I must be gone and live, or stay and die.”

— Romeo and Juliet (Act III, Scene 5)
