Yin Yang presents Warrior’s Path, a new EP from Eomac, one of Ireland’s most respected and long-standing figures in underground electronic music.
Known equally for his solo work and as one half of Lakker, the influential Dublin duo whose releases on R&S and beyond helped reshape ideas of what techno could be, Eomac brings decades of experience into a tightly focused record rooted in rave, grime, breaks and broken techno.
Across releases for Planet Mu, Stroboscopic Artefacts, The Trilogy Tapes and his own Eotrax imprint, Eomac has consistently followed his own path – prioritising sound, atmosphere and intent over trend. Warrior’s Path reflects that same mindset: club music made with conviction, shaped by a belief that electronic music can still carry emotional and cultural weight in a scene that often feels diluted by speed and commodification.
“Around the time of making these tracks, I was thinking about the archetype of the ‘warrior’ and how it can be a symbol of honour, courage and integrity. The sample of Richie Hawtin in the title track, speaking about his dismay at the death of A-Slice and the struggles facing producers, seemed to fit and the EP was born. A hint of joy, a hint of anger, some wild abandon and some sharp focus.” – Eomac
Rather than chasing nostalgia, the EP draws on a personal, inherited idea of rave that was absorbed through pirate radio, second-hand stories and imagined spaces… translating it into something immediate and grounded. The tracks balance physical impact with restraint, leaning into repetition, raw textures and emotionally charged fragments.
A central moment on the record comes via a rare remix from Shed, whose rework aligns closely with the EP’s ethos. Stripped back, functional and quietly intense, it reinforces the shared values between two artists known for longevity, independence and refusing easy narratives.
“The electronic music landscape can mean more than we’re currently allowing it, can hold more value than we are giving it. We live in a disposable time, one of soul-crushing social media algorithms and rampant tech dominance. I want to walk the path that goes against this tide of emptiness and stand with the artists who are holding their lighters in the darkness. That’s what ‘Warrior’s Path’ is about.” – Eomac
With Warrior’s Path, Yin Yang continues to platform Irish artists working with depth and purpose, and Eomac delivers a release that’s grounded, engaged and quietly resolute. Rave music that trusts its own weight.
