Maceo Plex returns with his first release since his acclaimed 2023 album ’93 on Lone Romantic, delivering a two-track EP for his Ellum Audio imprint that captures two sides of his artistry in sharp relief.
The US producer and DJ has spent three decades shaping dancefloors and defining sounds, his influence felt across house, techno and everything in between. As founder of Ellum Audio and Lone Romantic, he has built two of electronic music’s most respected imprints – platforms that mirror his own restless artistic vision and constant refusal to be confined to a single sound.
‘The Plan’ is a cut of propulsive 2-step – dark and visceral, driven by grinding, warped bass tones, and a twisted, pitch-shifting vocal from Baby Monsta built to turn heads and shake rooms. On the flip, ‘Lonely Drive’ offers the counterpoint: lush and cinematic melodies built on glittering keys, swelling pads and shimmering synth work that evokes the bittersweet solitude of its title.
