„After years of exploring electronic music from different angles, we felt it was time to take it a step further and create music for the dancefloor without compromising our own approach to sound. These four tracks mark the beginning of a new chapter for MAMBEC.
846 KM² is a meeting point between club energy, experimentation, and a deeply musical perspective. Rather than representing a change of direction, it is a natural evolution along a path we have long wanted to follow

About MAMBEC

MAMBEC is the electronic music project of guitarist and composer Diego Barber (Granada) and percussionist, composer, and producer Alejandro Coello (Weimar). Rooted in years of collaboration and a shared background in jazz and improvisation, the duo creates immersive electronic music where club-driven energy meets experimental sound design and musical depth.

Diego Barber is a composer and classical and jazz guitarist. He studied at the Lanzarote Conservatory, the Salamanca Higher Conservatory of Music, and the Mozarteum University Salzburg. While living in New York City, he recorded for Sunnyside and Origin Records, collaborating with some of the finest contemporary jazz musicians. As All About Jazz wrote: „Known for the grandeur and majesty of his playing, Diego Barber‘s impressive dynamic range and exquisiteness of expression are deeply rooted in extraordinary technique.“

Alejandro Coello is a percussionist, composer, and producer — an artist who moves effortlessly between concert halls, jazz clubs, and contemporary art venues. One of the youngest lecturers ever appointed at a German conservatoire, he teaches at the Franz Liszt University of Music Weimar. His works have been premiered at venues including the Berliner Philharmonie and Carnegie Hall in New York, and range from his Percussion Opera to the album Percussion Theory, recorded alongside the legendary Simon Phillips.
