Livio & Roby ‘Ondul’ EP ,out February 1st, 2019
Anoalogue pioneers Livio & Roby prepare to release the second EP on their Tier imprint.
Cementing the duo’s label as a platform for sophisticated and distinguished productions, this three-track EP offers two original works, with Romanian compatriot Priku delivering a remix. It follows the label’s debut EP ‘Bala Un Ac’, which featured illustrious Dutch mastermind, Ion Ludwig on rerub duties.
Title track ‘Ondul’ utilises off kilter rhythms, twisted FX processing and a funk laden bassline perfectly suited for those long after-hours. Absorbing and rolling grooves typifies deft producer Priku, who uses shimmering pads and rich atmospheres in his rework, best herd through a stack of Funktion-Ones. The flip’s ‘Bartez’ is another transfixing workout, maintaining a steady pace until a subtle lift in velocity elevates the arrangement.
Deriving its name from gaming, ‘tier’ relates to reaching another level until achieving a goal. Predominantly providing a home for the duo’s own productions, Tier will also showcase both established and emerging talent, with a similar sound and vision.
