Nadja Lind – Kreuzberg EP on Lucidflow

Lucidflow fire out their final release of 2017 and it is from co-founder Nadja Lind with the ‘Kreuzberg’ EP.
This particular release is little bit personal as it is inspired by the areas in Berlin around where she lives. In fact, the title track itself implies that Kreuzberg must be pretty vibey place to live if its real world counterpart matches its audio incarnation. Percussive through and through, it’s a shoulder swaying dancefloor shaker with little time for airs and graces from first kick to last.
‘Schlesisches Tor’ is named after a nice area in the district. While there is a dark dub undertone to the track, it is not despondently so thanks to the delirious melody that sits over the top. Juxtaposing this is ‘Kotti’, short for Kottbusser Tor, an U-Bahn station in Berlin Kreuzberg which is “very rough and filthy, where the whole drug addicted underworld meets.” It is a perfect counterpoint, full of sleaze and spidery, mistrustful elements that hover in the paranoid corners of your mind. Finishing off the release is ‘Sonnenaliee’, a live jam improvised and set in stone. As is the nature of live performance, there is a fluid energy to the track, a playfulness imbued through the off the cuff fills and moments of flair. If you’ve never had the benefit of catching Nadja live, this is the nearest you’ll get to capturing her effervescence in a bottle.
‘Kreuzberg’ will be available from your favourite digital stockists on 11th Dec. 2017 beatport exclusively.
