As an acclaimed songwriter, Swedish SHY Nodi has generated over 1 billion streams for artists worldwide. This fall, the 25-year-old furthers his own solo project, combining his urban influences with clear pop elements. November 23 marks the release of his second single ‘No Vibe’ – an emotional and empowering interpretation of leaving destructive relationships behind. SHY Nodi also announces plans for a debut mini-album to be released in 2019.
There’s been a buzz surrounding SHY Nodi since his debut single ‘Complex’ was released during Summer 2018, along with his feature on NEIKED’s single ‘Old School Love. He now releases his second single ‘No Vibe’, which features SHY Nodi combining undeniably current urban production together with his trademark graceful pop melodies. The artist project is the result of close collaboration with the Swedish producer Agrin Rahmani (LÉON, Skott).
Speaking on the single, SHY Nodi comments – “’No Vibe’ is a self-perceived image of identifying destructive patterns in a relationship and daring to break free from them. People change and it’s sad how money, status and material things sometimes can be prioritized over true friendship or love. In this world, genuine relationships are all we have left in the end. You can’t take money with you to the grave.”
Regarding the artist debut he adds – “This solo project is very special to me, a free space where I can be brutally honest and vulnerable to myself and the world. I want people to be able to get to know me through my music.”
As an artist, SHY Nodi shows a darker side to himself, in strong contrast to the pop and house hits that he has written for artists such as The Chainsmokers, Astrid S, NOTD, Mike Perry, Jess Glynne and NEIKED. ‘No Vibe’ is based around melodic synths, coupled with heavy atmospheric beats, drawing on influences such as 6LACK, Majid Jordan and Miguel.
Several further releases from SHY Nodi will follow in the next few months, with a debut mini-album planned for release in 2019.
