Wonkytonk is a collaboration of Mr.C & Radio Rental and is next up on Mr.C’s irrepressible Superfreq label with more of their innovative house, acid and electro fusions, and the label head as well as Radio Rental and Jay Tripwire all remix.
Wonk is the original here and is an off balance and playful track with warped synths and bulbous bass. The percussion is raw and the whole thing has a trippy late night feel for those woozy after hour sessions.
Mr.C, who has just launched a collection of new podcasts that cover rave, techno, acid and electro from days gone by right up to the present day (https://freqstream.com), then remixes it in to something more high techno and high impact, with wild acid lines and icy percussion racing along at speed and taking you with it every step of the way.
Radio Rental steps up to remix next and serves up a darker, more gritty track with a frazzled synth line and splashing hits to get the floor on edge. Last of all, long time label regular Jay Tripwire then goes deep and spaced out on his characteristically smooth and sci-fi remix.
