Laurent Garnier selects half a dozen brand new tracks for COD3 QR’s first release of 2025: [QR]D.024.HDZ.25
Dukwa gets the party started with “Waves”. The Italian DJ / producer has been making waves for a decade now. His love for machines, classic house and raw experimentation infuses his musical process, from his inaugural solo release in 2014 on Bosconi, esteemed UK labels like Don’t Be Afraid and Numbers, to more recently on Tdsr, Shall Not Fade and his own Dukwa Music, launched in 2018. Through continually developing his sound, Dukwa’s music mesmerizes and startles; always boiling down to his meticulous, well-oiled productive regime of hardware, sampling and editing. His quintessence is always abundantly apparent – raw, punchy and inimitable.
Victor Santana, the Madrid DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist has devoted his life to music from all perspectives, but always with the same goal: connecting the crowds that listen and dance to him. Artist, musician, sound engineer, DJ or producer, Victor Santana is a rhythm selector and musical connoisseur, clearly evident on “Jilter All Day”. Beside releasing on labels like Subsist, EPM Music, Motech, Involve or Art21, Victor also has his own label, Chaval Records: a sleeping giant that will awaken very soon.
Sure fire providers of hypnotic grooves, the power unit Hard To Tell (a.k.a. Roy & Roi) know how to bring the heat, delivering the upbeat “Feeling Alright”. Conjuring up elements from all cultures and eras – from Detroit techno and house to cold/new wave, via breakbeat and electroid dynamics – as the basis to proper magnetic and immersive club narratives. Firm favourites of Innervisions’ Dixon and Âme, they released their gritty, anthemic tune “Area 88” on the Secret Weapons 15 compilation, followed by the Italo roller “Last Forever” on the 16th volume, as well as labels like Sums Over Histories, Siamese and Tau.
Producer and manager of Slates Records, Squal G is a French artist who has been passionate about electronic music since the ’90s. Initially he practised his art as a DJ, but a few years later finally turned to machines and computers. This enabled him to progress with his production and remixes. He never tries to stick to a single style, which, depending on his inspiration, can lead him to be more or less hard, while remaining in the spirit of techno, like his driving track “Face”.
Steeped in Miami’s B-boy culture, it was classic electro & Miami bass that conceived Danny Daze‘s love for the experimental Dutch electro and Detroit Techno scenes of the ’90s. He produced his first tracks in 2004 on a cracked version of Fruity Loops and later that year, he jumpstarted the electro / techno white label, Omniamm. Daze’s risk-taking and punk approach is at the core of everything he does and it’s a big part of the ethos of his current label, Omnidisc. His output ranges from releases on Kompakt’s Speicher series, to remixes on Phantasy, Comeme, Monkeytown and more… but he also reaches far beyond techno and has created original runway soundtracks for award winning American streetwear designer John Elliott and the Australian brand Song for the Mute.

Meanwhile Joyvan Guevara a.k.a. Djoy De Cuba, was born in Havana, Cuba and studied in the art school at San Alejandro Academy. His debut as his DJ was in ’97 with a group of friends in a club called Atalier (known today as The Yellow Submarine), and since then has devoted himself to the production of electronic music. His sound is characterized by a progressive, eclectic and psychedelic, from house to tech house to techno. Founder of the Cuban electronic music festival, ROTILLA together with producer Michel Matos, he is considered one of the pioneers of the Cuban electronic scene. Currently based in Tampa, Florida, the two team up for the aptly titled techno drone of “Vertigo”.
French artist Marcelus is a discreet producer, but that hasn’t stopped him from making a name for himself on the techno scene in the 2010s, with releases on Deeply Rooted House, Tresor, and more recently on Evod and Out-Er, plus his own label Singular Records, alongside a residency at Tresor in Berlin. Following his 2023 appearance on COD3 QR 015, we now find him under his alias Rosegreen with the delicate electronica of closing track, “Lotus”.
