Germany’s Ackermann returns to SEVEN with the ‘I Know What To Do’ EP, set for release 1st May 2026 and featuring remixes from Cinthie and Deetron. Following his contribution to the queer-and-flinta*-first label’s debut compilation, he now delivers a full EP, adding to a vast catalogue built over more than fifteen years. A regular presence atop the charts, Ackermann has previously released on labels including UNCAGE, Safe Space Records, and Syncrophone.
Ackermann’s ‘I Know What To Do’ EP opens with the title track, where nods to his early explorations in hip-hop and jungle surface through intricate sampling techniques. Crisp drums underpin pitched and layered vocal cuts, unfolding into a fast-paced, euphoric groove. ‘Can’t Give You Up’ follows with a deeper swing, balancing weighty kicks and bright synth stabs against evolving, chopped vocals that steadily build intensity across the arrangement.
On remix duties, Swiss Techno royalty Deetron steps in with a Detroit-leaning reinterpretation of ‘I Know What To Do’, laying down rolling percussion, sharp hats, and a tightly engineered low-end as modulated filters gradually expand the track’s central motif. DJ, producer, label, and Elevate record store owner Cinthie closes out the package with a chord-driven house-and-techno hybrid, weaving classic stabs through shifting dynamics, from stripped-back passages to driving, snare-led momentum designed for peak-time floors.
