London’s groovy Soul, Funk and Jazz outfit, Jonson, Jonson & Jonson (aka Joe Cang, Danny Schogger & Phil Thornalley), deliver the third single, ‘Trouble’, from their forthcoming debut album on Swamp Recordings. ‘Trouble’ is a Seventies Soul inspired downtempo groover loaded with top-class musicianship. The song’s smooth soundtrack features lush piano stylings from Danny, irresistible drums and funky guitar wizardry from Phil and topped with a hip swaying bass groove and soul-drenched Marvin’esque vocals from Joe, who delivers a poignant question on conflict and human intolerance. Perfect for late‑night soulful soirées and easy pool‑side listening, ‘Trouble’ sets the tone for a debut album that promises depth, class and undeniable groove.
Jonson, Jonson & Jonson’s first release, ‘Keep Falling For It’, landed in 2024, followed by ‘Circles’ in 2025, which was snapped up by Jo Wallace and Ashley Beedle’s Ramrock Records and received support from Gilles Peterson and Tony Blackburn. Aside of their Jonson, Jonson & Jonson project, all three talents are individual artists in their own right too. In addition, Danny Schogger has written and produced hits for Celine Dion and played with George Michael. Joe Cang has written for Aswad (the number one ‘Shine’) and Hall & Oates, as well as releasing music as a solo artist signed to the legendary Clive Davis. Phil has a produced bands like ‘The Cure’, written songs for Natalie Imbruglia (‘Torn’) and played in Bryan Adams’ band. The trio have been busy in the studio and are getting ready to release their debut collaborative album ‘Back to the Buffet’ later this year.
