Italian Alex Mine has had his tunes played by the likes of Joseph Capriati on his fabric mix and Richie Hawtin on his ENTER.Ibzia compilation, and recently he got the nod from SCI+TEC boss Dubfire who included one of his cuts on his latest compilation. Now the label welcomes Mine for a full EP all of his own. Entitled In A Time lapse it shows off his sound on four great new tracks.
The title track is first and is a broody number with epic synths dangling in the air above firm rooted drums. It’s a monstrous track with all consuming bass. Egos is one to freak out the club in the dead of night with its squiggling synths and deep space atmospheres, and Four Dimension shows off a softer, deep sound. This one is stripped back to a molten melodic phrase and supple bass and kicks that oozes warmth and soul. The meatiest of the lot is the writhing technoid monster Krantor. It has frazzled synths twisting and turning above huge hi hats as barrelling kicks power it along down low.
This is a varied and vital EP from one of contemporary techno’s brightest stars.
