Anthony Rother, Martin Messier, Orbe and Okkre headline the seventh edition of Fanzine Fest

The seventh edition of Fanzine Fest will be held from November 30th to December 5th.

The festival will return to the stages of A Coruña, expanding its program to offer a unique sensory experience that brings together leading figures of electronic music and visual arts. Figures such as Anthony Rother, Martin MessierOrbe and Okkre will coexist in an eclectic line-up, which will move between techno, house, dance, ambient or electronic punk, and will be completed by artists such as DJ InoCRNDSParallax, Roi, Marta Verde and Athal-Berath, among other names.

Fanzine Fest is an event promoted by Fanzine Project (Pablo Cubeiro and Roi Grobas) which, for more than a decade, aims to promote the creation of a unique electronic ecosystem in Spain: a creative universe that gathers a remarkable sample of the wide spectrum of the contemporary avant-garde scene.

In 2021, the festival will focus especially on the visibility of local talent, with the programming of numerous artists residing or linked to Galicia, and in its commitment to the visual arts: Fanzine Fest will expand the sessions dedicated to exploring the links between audiovisual and electronic creation.

After a reduced edition in 2020, Fanzine Fest is offering a program of six days of live sessions and audiovisual screenings, which will take place in five venues in A Coruña intimately linked to scientific and contemporary culture with the intention of turning the city into the creative epicenter of electronics and an essential date for lovers of the scene.

Programming

Fanzine Fest 2021 will kick off on Tuesday 30th at the Domus science museum with the FPS-BMP day, which combines different types of audiovisual creation with sound experimentation, with the contribution of various Galician video creators, and will continue on Thursday 2nd.

On Wednesday 1st, the Planetarium of the Casa de las Ciencias will host a film session: the Spanish premiere of -22.7º, with music by the Frenchman Molécule, and directed by Jan Kounen, Amaury La Burthe and Molécule himself. The film is based on the experience that the musician himself lived on his trip to Greenland, in which he explored the sounds of the Arctic to shape his music, turning his creative process into an initiatory experience, now transformed into a 360º cinema experience.

On Friday 3, the Teatro Colón will illuminate a unique night with Cerebral, a sound creation of stimulating audiovisual complexity by Athal-Berath.  The theater will also be visited by Canada’s Martin Messier and the enigmatic soundscapes of Okkre.

The following day, on Saturday 4, the Luis Seoane Foundation will hold a day open to the public, with performances by ParallaxRarekDJ INO and the live show by Divorce from New York.
