Premiere: Funk Messiahs – Save Me (Ben Pest Remix)( Golden Ape Records)

Save Me (Ben Pest Remix) is taken from ‘Save Me’ EP, out on Vinyl April 15th on Juno / Full release April 29th 2022 on Golden Ape Records.

New label Golden Ape Records kick off their journey with some raw Electro-Funk chic from the Funk Messiahs with their brilliant debut single, ‘Save Me’. A sassy 80’s-tinged dirty Disco Funk affair, ‘Save Me’ is loaded with live funky guitars, groovy bass, playful brass hooks, electronic synthscapes, infectious drums and drizzled with an enchanting, sultry vocal from lead singer Lucy. Also on the package are remixes from Crazy P’s Jim Baron, who delivers a seductive percussive Disco vibe under his Ron Basejam moniker; ‘Dark Wobble’ (aka Michel Williams), who injects some Scouse street style flava’s with his quirky Electronica meanderings; and Ben Pest amps up the electro filth with a gritty electronic outing, perfectly tailored for the late night soirees!

Funk Messiahs are a band that rose together out of the lockdown on a mission to bring their sweet filthy Electro-Funk sound to the world. All based in London, apart from Tom who lives in Japan, the band formed and recorded all their parts remotely. Out front is vocalist Lucy (Veeresh’s Humaniversity Sound), whose deep sultry understated vocals soothe the soul; the amazing Pest trio (Ninja Tune) of Matt on guitar, Vinny on sticks and Tom on Trombone to provide the rhythm and driving funk. Super talented Kitty (Kitty, Daisy & Lewis) moving booties with the bass, and A-Lo adding Electro vibes with his vintage synths. Saving people from the banal and leading them to the promised land of funk!
