In addition to the Deluxe audio-video reissue package of Air ’s seminal debut album Moon Safari due March 8th, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel have announced a spectacular reissue package of the second single from that album, the spellbinding and timeless ‘Kelly Watch The Stars’.
This special 12” picture disc will be available for Record store Day on April 20th, 2024 and will include the original song backed by the Moog Cookbook Remix along with a cryptically titled ‘Kelly Watch The Stars Edit version’ that was in fact engineered by none other than Motorbass co-founder Etienne de Crécy who provided a Dj-ready mix as well as Phoenix first ever (and one of a very very few) remix, in fact almost a cover version – the ‘American Girls Remix’ which the Versailles quartet fondly remember as “their” first actual release in 1998.
The full album reissue on March 8th (a Deluxe 2CD/Blu Ray Audio-Video) will include a Spatial Dolby Atmos audio version of the original album along with super rare or previously unreleased tracks as well as Mike Mill’s 1998 60-min documentary film ‘Eating, Sleeping, Waiting & Playing’ filmed during the band’s first ever worldwide tour and more…
These re-worked releases follow the huge news that the iconic French duo will play their widely celebrated album in its entirety for the first time across Europe throughout the whole year. All dates on the original tour sold out in record time and given the exceptional demand for tickets as Air continue to add further dates to their touring schedule, including a second night at The Royal Albert Hall in London in late May and a huge outdoor show at Halifax Piece Hall on June 26th.
