Melbourne-born DJ, Producer and artist, Strath delivers his most euphoric club moment yet with new single ‘Julia’, out the 1st of May via HE.SHE.THEY. Records.
Co-written with Harry Winther and Al Bouchier after a chance encounter, ‘Julia’ was inspired by a moment of pure dance floor ecstasy the trio shared while watching Hunee and Antal’s 2022 set at Houghton Festival. Three years on, the track has become a crowd favorite, gaining momentum as London audiences pushed for its release after hearing it in Strath’s recent sets.
‘Julia’ follows a huge 2024 which saw Strath debut his live show to sold-out crowds in Melbourne, Amsterdam and London, launch Violet Moss – an East London party series that’s rapidly gaining cult status, open for SG Lewis and Channel Tres, and share DJ booths with Tom VR, Aleksandir, and Cameo Blush. He also released his second EP on Godmode, I Thought It Would Never End, and ‘Lovestruck’, a collaboration with Berlin’s Mona Yim – both racking up streams in the thousands and earning co-signs from tastemakers including TSHA, Job Jobse and Marlon Hoffstadt.
Oscillating between expansive electronica and peak-time Italo euphoria, ‘Julia’ is a weighty return for the Melbourne-born, LA-honed, and now London-based artist. Blending razor sharp production, and emotive songwriting with intricate percussion and soaring melodies, the track is equally at home in sweaty basement raves as it is on festival stages, and marks another moment in his ever-evolving sound.
Strath first gained recognition in the studio, producing for Godmode artists including Channel Tres and Rawpaw Rod, before stepping out from behind the booth in 2023 with his breakout release, I Can’t Do This Without You! – a defining moment that signaled his transition into full performer mode. Since then, he has built a reputation for story-driven club sounds that weave raw emotion into intricate, and euphoric soundscapes. Outside of his own productions, he has been busy in the studio cooking up heaters for some of the underground’s best talents, including Tommy Gold, Pretty Girl, and IN2STELLAR.
With a critically acclaimed live show already under his belt and a forthcoming debut release on HE.SHE.THEY. Records, Strath is fast emerging as one of electronic music’s most exciting new voices with 2025 gearing up to be his biggest yet.
Strath adds:
“I met Harry and Al on the dance floor watching Hunee and Antal at Houghton in 2022. When I moved to London a year later, the three of us started making music together. Harry and Al are seasoned diggers, incredible DJs and their deep knowledge of music taught me so much and heavily influenced what we made. One of these songs was ‘Julia’; which quickly found its identity as an unapologetically massive Italo track.
I first played ‘Julia’ to my friends at a kick on’s at my flat in Hackney and their response was wild — they demanded that I finish and release it. At my London live show & DJ sets it’s always been the biggest track without fail, largely probably due to those guys losing their minds when they hear it fading in. It’s been a really sweet thing to experience with them. This track feels just as much my friends’ as it does my own”.
On releasing with HE.SHE.THEY.:
“I couldn’t be more excited to work with a group that champions everything I stand for on the dance floor”.
To celebrate the release of ‘Julia’, Strath will be taking over an undisclosed Brooklyn rooftop on the 2nd of May.
