“Cartilage” by Kmyle is taken from the “Boreal EP”, set for release on 26th September 2025 on EPM Music.
Following EPM’s recent vinyl collaboration with Paris’s Yoyaku on Reel By Real’s “Surkit – Remixed and Remastered” and the return (this time solo) of Madben for the “Groove On” EP we continue the French touch as Paris-based Kmyle makes his debut release for the label with the “Boreal EP”.
Kmyle is a name synonymous with boundless audible exploration, who has etched a lasting mark in the realm of electronic music. His career seamlessly blends magnetic techno, hypnotic rhythms and ethereal melodies, inviting listeners on a transcendent voyage through time and space.
Kmyle’s musical journey originates from Algiers, surrounded by a rich tapestry of African and Arabic sounds. His creative palette is a fusion of cinematic scores and eclectic inspirations such as Björk, Trentmøller and timeless artists like Pink Floyd. This diverse blend seamlessly integrates classical roots, electronic nuances and the evocative echoes of psychedelic rock, and finds inspiration in science fiction cinema, a genre he deeply admires, adding another layer to his artistic influences.
With revered labels such as Soma, Mord and Skryptöm placing their unwavering trust in his musical prowess, Kmyle’s journey serves as a living testament to his artistry. As a live performance maestro, he effortlessly enthrals audiences with his Möd4rn Live quartet, Laval duo with Electric Rescue and Spatialised 360° adventures.
Kmyle’s journey knows no bounds, launching Kmyle Records in 2020, an exciting new chapter in his career. Guided by luminaries like Luke Slater, Blawan and Laurent Garnier, Kmyle has shaped a formidable career while cultivating lasting friendships. His artistry transcends boundaries, solidifying his place as an enduring luminary in electronic music.
Kick-starting his debut for EPM, “Boreal” builds from a sinister, rolling bassline into a deep and pulsating techno groove, before “Cartilage” trips over its own staccato beat that grows ever more sinister via crunchy claps and ethereal echoes of dubbed out techno. “Darkness Light” takes us into IDM territory where Board of Canada get roughed up on the techno dancefloor, and finally, the deep and dark “Metric” takes the EP into a long and menacing hypnotic tunnel.
