EXIT and P+US Make History at the Great Pyramids of Giza with Starlight Festival’s Spectacular Debut

Charlotte de Witte, Michael Bibi, Adriatique and Indira Paganotto lead sold-out first edition, with fans from 114 countries

Award winning EXIT festival together with P+US, Venture Lifestyle’s electronic music platform, launched Starlight Festival in spectacular fashion against the backdrop of the Great Pyramids of Giza, drawing music fans from 114 countries.

On 9th-10th October at a designated site overlooking the pyramids, Starlight was the first ever multi-day, multi-stage electronic music festival staged at Giza. The sold-out festival was the largest electronic music event at the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World since Jean-Michel Jarre’s millennium concert in 1999.

The success of Starlight carries even greater significance as the festival marked the culmination of EXIT’s international tour, launched after the globally acclaimed Serbian festival was forced to leave its home country following its public support for student-led protests in Serbia.

Charlotte de Witte led the lineup with her first-ever performance in Egypt, joined by Michael Bibi, Adriatique, Indira Paganotto, Enrico Sangiuliano, Vintage Culture, Pete Tong and WhoMadeWho, among 60+ international and regional artists across several stages.

The production was designed by Sila Sveta, the multimedia design studio behind some of the most-renowned global ceremonies and concerts. Its light show used optical illusions to make the pyramids appear to float above the main stage, setting a new benchmark for visual artistry in the global festival scene.

After the main stage, the busiest area was EXIT’s No Sleep stage, which brought Charlie Sparks, BIIA, Layla Benitez, Paolo Ferrara and Olympe to Giza. Fiona Kraft, Floyd Lavine, Lanna, Coeus, Reblok, Clonee and Deer Jade also played, alongside many regional artists. The standout live sets came from WhoMadeWho and Satori, and Gioli & Assia who closed the weekend at Sunday’s farewell show in Cairo.

But it was the international crowd that left the biggest impression. Fans from 114 countries made a holiday of it, dancing through warm desert nights with the pyramids behind them before exploring the rest of Egypt.

Michael Bibi brought his parents for the weekend and, after his main stage set, slipped into the No Sleep crowd to dance incognito. Charlotte de Witte stayed three days with her father and friends, riding camels and trying local food. Indira Paganotto arrived with her 13-strong ARTCORE crew straight from the Ibiza closing at UNVRS, staying until Monday to fly over the pyramids and cruise down the Nile.

With its first edition, Starlight has become a new must-attend, bucket-list date on the global electronic music calendar. Pre-registration is already open for Starlight Festival returning on 5th- 6th November, 2027
