Ahead of his debut mini album, ASA 808 delivers two melodic house tunes, taken from the seven track release that will be out in fall. Both “Woke” and “Love Trumps Fear” drip with brooding string arrangements and analogue bass synths over the top of a tense percussive grid.
Intriguing with its unexpected reverse guitars, acid basslines and captivating strings, “Woke” already garnered support by DJs like Avalon Emerson, Breach, Frits Wentink, George FitzGerald and Whitesquare.
“Love Trumps Fear”, produced in midsummer of 2017, is a huge anthem for love, resplendent with expansive dreamy strings, bubbling analogue bass and impelling drums that feel like they are in a long-distance relationship with the redeeming kick. Because just as in love, the tension derives from longing rather than from fulfilment.
