After a number of acclaimed tracks and EPs, the southern newcomer on the French electronic scene, Voltaire will be releasing his debut album on Laurent Garnier‘s COD3 QR label this year. As a first taster, the three-track EP “[QR]D.292.VOL1.24” was released in October 2024. Following on, a second EP drops in March features two more cuts from the forthcoming album alongside a third track which is exclusive to this new EP.
Voltaire is an artist who built his career through passion, after electronic music fell into his lap somewhat by chance. Coming from a region far from the preferred circuits of the music world, he cultivated his predispositions in autarky. Very quickly, the musician took advantage of his training in the audio-visual industry (where he worked as a sound recordist and mixer for cinema, advertising and haute couture) to raise the artistic and technical quality of his productions to a very high level. Today Voltaire is a COD3 QR regular: he has remixed “Tales from the Real World” from Laurent Garnier’s “33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont” album, had several vinyl and digital releases and has been in the line-up of several events.
Voltaire uses his perfectionist approach to music to create a richly emotional eclecticism, whether it’s the story-telling techno of “Detune”, the housier edge of EP exclusive, “Enlight” or the electro-fied closer, “Unity”.
