Best of 2025 (Tracks & Albums) + Artist Questionnaire by FERNANDO LAGRECA

While we work on our year-end highlights, we wanted to hear directly from artists about how 2025 has been for them and what they’re looking forward to in 2026.

Discover their answers in our Questionnaire, alongside their Best of 2025 tracks, albums, and mixes. Following Carlos Nimmens, the next artist to respond is Fernando Lagreca, with many more to come. Stay tuned.

– What’s one thing you learned about yourself as an artist this year?

One of the clearest takeaways from this year is that we’re being pushed to constantly expand our ability to adapt. The market is in permanent flux, the ways Djs and artists promote themselves — and the rules of the game — keep shifting, and as artists we have to learn how to move with that current rather than resist it.

-How has your creative process evolved over the past year?

My creative process this year has been shaped by a constant effort to optimize timing without compromising on quality. It’s been an intense period on the agency side with Miracle MGMT, which I run, and a year marked by multiple changes that demanded a certain level of adaptability. That inevitably took time away from the studio, but not the desire to produce. If anything, it’s pushed me to become more efficient and focused in how I work.

-Who or what inspired your work the most in 2025?

As 2025 draws to a close, I’ve found a lot of inspiration in three elements that feel essential to me: travel, the sea, and reading. Being able to travel is a privilege — it constantly opens up new perspectives, introduces you to people and stories, and feeds ideas in unexpected ways. I also live by the coast, but close enough to the city to dip in and out as I choose, and even a short walk along the beach or a quick morning swim helps me disconnect and, at the same time, feel more present. And finally, reading — the subject almost doesn’t matter. It’s a quiet but constant source of enrichment.

-What’s something you accomplished this year that the “you from last year” wouldn’t believe?

Probably the biggest achievement has been reaching a certain sense of calm despite the obstacles the year threw my way, and still being able to face new challenges while coming up with fresh ideas — whether they turn out to be good ones or not remains to be seen. Most importantly, I’m heading into 2026 with the same hunger to keep moving forward.

-Is there something you hoped to accomplish in 2025 but didn’t, and are now aiming for in 2026?

Yes — this year I set myself the goal of getting back to the guitar more regularly, and I’ve managed it to a certain extent. As I mentioned before, time has been limited, so everything comes down to optimization. Toward the end of 2024 I bought a bass, which I’ve already started weaving into several productions, and I’ve also managed to steal moments for the guitar here and there. Still, it’s something I want to push much further in 2026. Lately I’ve also been diving deeper into piano and harmony, and that’s definitely an area I’m keen to develop more seriously going forward.

– What’s one goal -big or small- you’re setting for yourself as an artist in 2026?

Looking ahead to 2026, one of the ideas I’m most excited about is releasing a techno album — or perhaps a mini-album. It’s something I’ve never done before. I have several albums out, but they’ve always moved across different shades of electronic music and sometimes even combined with pop. I’ve never released a record that’s truly focused on techno, or one that’s 80–90% techno-driven. In parallel, I’m also working on a new live set, built around fewer machines, with more room for enjoyment and, crucially, for improvisation.

– What are you most excited to explore creatively in 2026?

Without a doubt, the creative territory I’m most eager to explore in depth in 2026 is piano and harmony. I’m especially drawn to the idea of approaching soundtrack composition with a more rigorous mindset — studying the work of people who truly master the craft, and at the same time absorbing new compositional tools that I can feed back into my own tracks.

– Is there a new medium, project, or direction you’re planning to dive into next year?

Musically, I think I’ve already touched on most of it, but on the agency side we’re also entering a new phase. With Miracle MGMT, we’re developing a dedicated publishing arm that’s gaining solid momentum. The aim is to build a strong, carefully curated catalogue of tracks for music supervisors, platforms and audiovisual production companies, while at the same time expanding the range of services we can offer our artists.

Your Message for Fans & Music Lovers

To everyone who supports my work, the first thing I want to say is thank you — for being there, for engaging with the posts, for buying the music, and for dancing at the shows. And to music lovers in general, and fellow emerging artists navigating this industry: success often comes from simply being here, doing what we love, and learning to enjoy our own creations. It’s about studying, staying curious, discovering new approaches, and crossing paths with new artists and people along the way. Here’s to a strong 2026 for all of us.
