Brooklyn techno producer Saint Velez announces debut album ‘Truth Be Told’ via Illegal Rhythm

Brooklyn techno producer Saint Velez announces his debut album ‘Truth Be Told’ and releases the album’s inaugural single “Authority (Inspirational Hater)” via Illegal Rhythm.

Saint Velez has built this record the same way he built his name: by staying inside the rooms that matter rather than chasing the ones that are easier to reach. Over the better part of a decade, the Brooklyn-born producer developed a sound in the warehouses of Bushwick and Bed Stuy that is raw, physically driven, and shaped entirely by those spaces. Industrial textures, cinematic weight, a groove that works on you before you consciously register it. ‘Truth Be Told’ is the full articulation of where that path leads.

Truth Be Told is an adventure of music I’ve made in the last year. It explores many avenues of styles that I love and really represents me as a whole. Based upon one of the most vivid dreams I had, Truth Be Told tells the story of a dream that dresses me down as a human and really exposes my true position in life, which also affects a loved one in my life too.” – Saint Velez

As founder of Illegal Rhythm and a resident of the Agape Music collective, Saint Velez occupies a position in American techno that very few artists reach by staying underground rather than leaving it. The co-signs reflect that. Richie Hawtin opened his 2025 Boiler Room set with a Saint Velez track. Sara Landry brought him on as direct support three separate times. He held the room for I Hate Models at Knockdown Center.

Authority (Inspirational Hater)” arrives as the opening statement of the album cycle, followed by “Villains (Backstage Hotel)” on April 17th. Both tracks carry the DNA of a catalog built across Autektone Dark, De Konstrukt Records, Back In Black Recordings, Modular States, and Gain: a producer who has always been more interested in depth than visibility.

Authority is the most pivotal track to the entire project. Although it was a very late-stage production, Authority provides such a swing in energy and tone for the entire project that I hope to explore further in the future.” – Saint Velez

Live, Saint Velez brings the same seriousness. Multiple appearances at Basement alongside the likes of Francois X and LOLSNAKE, plus sets at H0L0, Lot Radio, Signal, and Avant Gardner have established him as someone whose presence behind the decks carries genuine authority. The rooms he plays remember him.

‘Truth Be Told’ will be released on Illegal Rhythm. It is brutally physical and spiritually charged, and unmistakably New York.

About Saint Velez:

Saint Velez doesn’t boast the story of someone who was discovered. He’s writing the story of someone who has built something. Over the better part of a decade, the Brooklyn born producer developed a sound in the warehouses of Bushwick and Bed Stuy that is raw, physically driven, and unmistakably shaped by those spaces. As founder of Illegal Rhythm and a resident of the Agape Music collective, the co-signs speak for themselves. Richie Hawtin opened his 2025 Boiler Room set with a Saint Velez track, Sara Landry brought him on as direct support three times, and he held the room for I Hate Models at Knockdown Center. His catalog across Autektone Dark, De Konstrukt Records, Back In Black Recordings, and Modular States traces a producer always more interested in depth than visibility, and his live appearances at Knockdown Center, Basement, H0L0, Lot Radio, and Avant Gardner have built a reputation that rooms hold onto.
