Peter and Kerry return with their first new music in years, announcing their long-awaited album You, Me and the Moon

UK songwriting duo Peter and Kerry return with their first new music in years, signing to Sonar Kollektiv and announcing their long-awaited album You, Me and the Moon (out June 27th, 2025).

Kerry Leatham and Peter Lyons first met in 2010 when they were both signed to the independent UK label Tape Club Records. Kerry, a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer raised in Essex by a Northern Irish mother and a Dominican father, connected instantly with Peter, a Southampton native whose early musical experiments involved tape recorders and hand-me- down instruments. Bonding over a shared love of The Simpsons and Fleetwood Mac, they spent a summer playing in each other’s bands, leading to the release of their home-made Clothes, Friends, Photos EP. Encouraged by early support from the BBC and mainstream TV, they followed up with their critically acclaimed debut album La Trimouille in 2012.

After years of touring and pursuing solo projects, they began writing together again in 2016, but their return was cut short by the global COVID crisis. Now, more than a decade after their first release, Peter and Kerry reunite with a fresh perspective. In their own words, they are “older, wiser, and uglier,” but also more assured as artists and storytellers. Their upcoming album, You, Me and the Moon, reflects this maturity, featuring twelve songs that capture real- life experiences with a newfound confidence and honesty. Themes of love, identity, and personal growth intertwine with reflections on broader societal issues, including the rising cost of living, media influence, and corporate greed.

The album’s first single, ‘All I’ve Got Are My Dreams’ (out March 27th), encapsulates this spirit. The song began as a simple guitar loop in Peter’s studio before Kerry’s lyrics transformed it into an anthem about modern life’s pressures. Inspired by conversations about escaping the “rat race,” Kerry’s words struck a chord with Peter, who was growing increasingly disillusioned with the grind of 21st- century capitalism. The result is an uplifting and escapist alternative to resignation, emphasizing the pursuit of happiness over blind acceptance of the status quo.

The second single, ‘I Hope We Never Fit In’ (out April 24th), captures the duo’s evolved perspective. Inspired by a piece of graffiti near Peter’s East London studio, the phrase struck a chord with them at a time when they were struggling with writer’s block. It became the catalyst for a song that embraces self- acceptance and rejects the pressure to conform to a society that isn’t built for everyone. With its raw honesty and infectious melody, the track embodies Peter and Kerry’s ethos—embracing individuality and forging their own path.

Now joining forces with renowned Berlin-based imprint Sonar Kollektiv, Peter and Kerry’s music will reach a new audience while reconnecting with their loyal fans. Sonically, the duo merges high-end digital production with vintage reel-to-reel tape machines, 1960s BBC ribbon microphones, toy cassette recorders, and phone voice memos—channeling the DIY spirit that has defined their journey. Their latest live incarnation will take these songs on the road, blending new material with old favorites for audiences across the globe. Peter and Kerry’s return is a testament to growth, resilience, and the enduring power of collaboration.
