Detroit’s Filthiest – Deep Love feat. Yolanda Sargeant out March 15 on MCEC
Detroit’s Filthiest (aka Detroit’s legendary DJ Nasty / Julian Shamou) who’s given us a huge repertoire of genre-busting releases for over 20 years, more recently jumping from colossal house numbers like ‘Handprint’ (MCEC / Defected) to D&B and breaks mastery on last year’s ‘Honor Among Thieves’ for Defrostatica, is back with a vengeance in 2019.
First up is this deep house cut titled ‘Deep Love’. Soulful and funky, he does not disappoint. This time he has enlisted the vocal talents of Yolanda Sargeant. Hailing from Calgary (Alberta, USA), Yolanda is a fearless soul goddess, able to command a room singing any number of music styles whether it’s soul, jazz, reggae, blues or house. Her voice has been compared to the likes of Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill.
The smooth and sensual groove of ‘Deep Love’ is released in March and launches MCEC’s 2019 schedule in fine style.
