Back in April UK talent lau.ra put out a collection of her most bombastic beats. It showed off her signature booty-quaking sound and got widespread support across BBC Radio 1 and 6Music. It was the latest big step for this game-changing artist who crafts the most catchy and characterful tunes in the club scene right now. After a busy creative period, she is back with lots of new music, firstly with Rye Rye, who was recently sampled by Drake on his critically acclaimed Honestly Nevermind album. He used parts of Blaqstarr and Rye Rye’s ‘Shake It to the Ground’ track which is legendary in the Baltimore club scene and one of many standout tunes Rye Rye has dropped in the last decade.
The brilliant ‘I See You’ has big beats and twisted synths with blasts of explosive bass. Wonky sound effects and twitchy stabs bring the rave energy as Rye Rye drops a bold and badass vocal. She delivers it with plenty of rawness and there is no way the dance floor won’t erupt over and over.
This is another full-throttle bass workout from this creative powerhouse.
